José Custers is a senior researcher at the department of Medical Psychology, Radboud university medical center and lecturer at the Radboud University, Nijmegen in the Netherlands.
Her research group focuses on psychological mechanisms playing a role in the management of life-threating, chronic, or rare diseases. Relatively new concepts are fear of disease/cancer progression, scanxiety and (in)tolerance of uncertainty. Jose combines her fundamental and methodological background with clinically oriented research, being ambitious and feeling inspired to follow the route from conceptualization of disease-related psychological constructs to implementation of evidence-based interventions into supportive care models.
